HASCO has been honoured for its decades-long commitment to the Institute for Plastics Processing (IKV) at RWTH Aachen University. With a company history spanning more than 100 years, HASCO has been a member and sponsor of IKV for nearly half of that time, supporting research and development in plastics processing.
The long-standing partnership was formally recognised at the recent K plastics exhibition in Düsseldorf. During the event, Professor Christian Hopmann, Head of IKV, and plant engineer Martin Seeliger presented an honorary certificate to André Brandt, Executive Vice President at HASCO, acknowledging the company’s sustained engagement with the institute.
HASCO is one of the leading international producers of standardised, modular, high-quality mould units and customised hot runner systems. Its philosophy includes continually refining its expertise in mouldmaking and the injection moulding of plastics. Innovation has always been a hallmark of HASCO. For more than 50 years, the company has supported IKV as a renowned research and training institute and as the main sponsor of the Excellence in Production (EIP) competition. The leitmotif of the Institute, which was founded 75 years ago by companies in the emerging plastics industry, is expertise, passion and a pioneering spirit to shape the plastics technology of tomorrow – qualities that have also characterised HASCO for more than 100 years.
Throughout this long partnership, HASCO has repeatedly supported IKV with its high-quality products and new developments in the fields of research and training, helping to pave the way for innovation. “HASCO, as a technology leader, has always sought to support young people in their studies and practical training, and to introduce them early in their careers to our modular system, our standard mould units and our hot runner systems,” says Andrè Brandt, delighted with the award from IKV. He emphasises that many of HASCO’s new products and services often begin through close collaboration with partners such as IKV. At the K Plastics Show, both parties agreed to continue working together on the future of mouldmaking and plastics processing. “In the last 50 years, we have together provided important impetus for the industry, and we will continue to be a key source of innovation in the future.”
