ANCA Introduces Performance+ for Tool Manufacturers

ANCA has announced Performance+, a premium productivity program designed to help cutting tool manufacturers improve efficiency and increase throughput while maintaining or improving tool quality. The program comes at a time when manufacturers are facing rising input costs, tighter delivery timelines, and increasing global competition. According to the company, carbide prices have increased by 100%, making efficiency gains increasingly critical for manufacturers.

Performance+ is an expert-led program focused on delivering measurable productivity improvements. ANCA states that customers following the recommended guidance are guaranteed a minimum 10% reduction in cycle time.

The program begins with a personalised evaluation of the customer’s manufacturing process, including setup analysis, cycle time assessment, and production objectives. Based on the evaluation, ANCA experts provide recommendations supported by ROI insights, followed by implementation support and application training aimed at integrating best-practice grinding processes into daily operations.

ANCA stated that the program addresses productivity losses across multiple areas of the grinding ecosystem, including software, machine performance, consumables, coolant and wheel strategies, process optimisation, and operator practices. The company noted that the approach is designed to convert smaller process improvements into significant long-term productivity gains.

“Performance+ was created for manufacturers who know there’s more productivity in their operation – but need a proven pathway to unlock it,” said Thomson Mathew, ANCA Product Manager. “This is a premium consultancy that turns data into practical changes on the machine and on the floor – delivering cycle time reductions up to 40% in several cases without compromising tool quality.”

Performance+ is a personalised package that builds on ANCA’s proven productivity foundations – ToolRoom RN35 with optimisation software, MTC (Motor Temperature Control), Grind Point Velocity and Tool Runout Compensation – and takes grinding efficiency even further through a tailored blend of additional software enhancements, selected hardware upgrades and structured training.

Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all bundle, Performance+ is configured around each manufacturer’s priorities and focused on the top three tool types that matter most to their output and profitability. This approach ensures the improvements are relevant, measurable and aligned to the manufacturer’s goals – delivering meaningful cycle time reductions, higher throughput, and sustained, or improved tool quality where it counts most.

More tools, less time – month after month

Performance+ is engineered for outcomes that matter to manufacturers: more shippable tools per shift, less non-cutting time, and faster payback on equipment investments.

In one month of production (based on a 16-hour shift / 5 days per week comparison), Performance+ results have demonstrated:

  • 123 to 659 additional tools per month, depending on tool type
  • 30 to 80 hours saved per month
  • An estimated AUD $3,000 to $8,000 monthly value per machine (at an AUD $100/hour rate), before accounting for raw material and job-specific factors

These figures underscore the commercial advantage of reducing cycle time at scale: the same equipment, the same footprint – simply producing more.

While Performance+ guarantees a minimum 10% cycle time improvement, ANCA has already seen results materially beyond that baseline – depending on the software and process options deployed:

  • 25% cycle time reduction with optimisation software
  • 30% cycle time reduction using latest software + optimisation + process improvements
  • 35% cycle time reduction using hybrid wheels + optimisation + process refinements

Requesting a Performance+ evaluation is straightforward – manufacturers can work with ANCA to confirm eligibility and model potential savings based on their current cycle times, production volumes and priority tool types. With a clear pathway to measurable productivity gains, Performance+ gives cutting tool manufacturers a compelling reason to reassess what their grinding operation can achieve next.
