DN Solutions and HELLER Join Forces in Strategic Acquisition

Won-jong Kim, CEO of DN Solutions, and Dr. Thorsten Schmidt, CEO of HELLER Group, agree: “This strategic partnership strengthens the position of both companies in precision engineering.”

DN Solutions, the world’s third-largest machine tool manufacturer and Korea’s leading builder in the sector, has officially completed the acquisition of HELLER, a renowned German producer of high-end machine tools.

The transaction received regulatory approvals across multiple jurisdictions, including Germany, the United States, and the United Kingdom, paving the way for the successful closure of the deal.

With this acquisition, DN Solutions strengthens its global presence and expands its capabilities in advanced manufacturing technologies, particularly in the premium European machine tool segment.

The acquisition brings together DN Solutions’ global scale, operational agility, and advanced digital platforms with HELLER’s deep technical expertise in precision engineering, significantly expanding the range of solutions available to customers and driving innovations in demanding industries worldwide. This strategic integration will enable a more comprehensive service network, offering tailored solutions across key manufacturing regions such as Europe and North America, ensuring global impact and enhanced customer support.

Won-jong Kim, CEO of DN Solutions, stated: “This acquisition represents a transformative step for both companies. We aim to create a powerhouse that neither company could build alone, ready to meet evolving industry demands and deliver long-term stability and growth. By combining our strengths, we are set to significantly reinforce our leading position in the global manufacturing landscape and deliver even greater value to our customers.”

Thorsten Schmidt, CEO of HELLER, added: “This is a win-win for both companies. Together, we’ll serve customers worldwide with unmatched portfolio breadth, expertise, and innovation power. This partnership positions us as a premium partner for demanding industries and creating a one-stop-shop in machine tool manufacturing, supporting customers in all matters.”

WJ Kim informs HELLER employees about the successful completion of the acquisition of German machine tool manufacturer HELLER by DN Solutions and explains the synergies of the new partnership.

Driving Industry Transformation

The manufacturing sector is witnessing a renaissance, driven by reshoring, supply chain resilience, and significant capital investment in key industries like semiconductors, aerospace and other dual-use-industries. DN Solutions’ acquisition of HELLER is a pivotal moment in this transformative landscape, with the aim to capture and further drive this industry growth.

Both companies share a deep commitment to precision, innovation, and long-term partnerships. The integration plan is designed to preserve HELLER’s brand identity while leveraging synergies in R&D, manufacturing, and market strategies. HELLER will remain a key local employer and partner, complemented by DN Solutions’ global resources to drive growth and ensure the highest level of customer support.

The acquisition is set to boost DN Solutions’ consolidated sales to approximately EUR 2 billion. Together, they produce over 13,400 machines annually, enhancing economies of scale and purchasing power. Strategic investments in the Nürtingen site, and other international facilities, aim to strengthen offerings and customer support even further.

Outlook for the next 12 to 24 Months

The focus for DN Solutions will be a phased post-merger integration to ensure the development of a common culture and strong alignment. Revitalizing HELLER’s topline is a key objective, with plans to leverage each company’s strong customer base. A clear roadmap for joint development and innovation across the entire value chain will be established, and significant synergies in R&D, marketing, service, and production are expected to further solidify the position in the market.

The first joint public appearance of DN Solutions and HELLER will take place at SIMTOS in Seoul in April 2026, marking the starting point for presenting the combined strengths of both companies to the market.
