Haier plans to invest ₹7,000 crore in a new manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh, marking its largest investment in India and its first manufacturing base in South India.
The facility will be developed across 250 acres in Satyavedu mandal of Tirupati district. The project is expected to create around 21,000 jobs, including 6,000 direct and 15,000 indirect employment opportunities.
The investment will be implemented in two phases, with ₹4,500 crore allocated for the first phase and ₹2,500 crore for the second. The first phase is expected to begin operations by 2028, while the entire facility is scheduled for completion by 2032.
The plant will manufacture consumer appliances, including air conditioners, washing machines, televisions, air purifiers and kitchen appliances.
Haier currently operates manufacturing facilities in Pune and Greater Noida. The Andhra Pradesh project will expand its manufacturing presence in India and establish its first production base in the southern region.
The proposed facility will be located along the Tirupati-Chennai-Nellore electronics manufacturing corridor, near Sri City, where LG Electronics is developing its third manufacturing facility in India. The investment is expected to support Andhra Pradesh’s efforts to attract major electronics and consumer durables manufacturers.
