Tungloy Introduces New DTV Type Insert for Profile Turning, Designed for TungCut Grooving Holders

Ideal for Narrow Area Machining Where V-Shaped ISO Inserts Interfere

Tungaloy Corporation announces the release of a new shaped profile turning insert, the “DTV Type,” for use with TungCut holders for versatile grooving operations.

The “DTV Type” insert, featuring a 35-degree corner angle, addresses issues in grooving, wall machining, and narrow area machining where traditional V-shaped ISO inserts interfere. Designed to work with the versatile TungCut series holders, it offers superior accessibility to the machining area compared to standard external turning tools. The “DTV Type” ensures edge accuracy equivalent to V-shaped ISO inserts thanks to its unique high-rigidity clamping system. Additionally, it can be mounted on TungCut series holders for external, internal, face grooving, and undercut machining, making it suitable for a wide range of complex shapes.

The “DTV Type” lineup includes two types: the “DTV2” and the “DTV5,” with different insert widths, accommodating various industries from small parts to large profile turning operations. The insert features the “PS Type” chipbreaker, highly regarded for ISO positive inserts, delivering excellent chip control even in variable depth profile turning. The insert grade “AH7025,” a latest PVD coating grade, is used, ensuring stable long life across a broad range of work materials.

The “DTV Type” significantly contributes to improved productivity by enabling intricate and precise profile turning and shape machining.
