VZFOX Plans India Entry to Support Domestic Oil Production

Canadian energy engineering company VZFOX is entering the Indian market through the Government of Canada’s Team Canada Trade Mission, with a focus on improving domestic oil production and reducing India’s dependence on imported crude oil.

As part of the Canadian delegation focused on clean technology and the energy transition, VZFOX will offer expertise in mature oilfield redevelopment, reservoir optimisation, enhanced oil recovery (EOR), improved oil recovery (IOR) and injection strategies. The company will also support emerging carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) and CO₂ storage projects.

VZFOX aims to help Indian oil and gas operators improve recovery from mature and brownfield assets through reservoir characterisation, production and pressure analysis, injection optimisation, infill drilling assessments and field redevelopment. Its services are designed to identify additional recovery opportunities, reduce technical uncertainties and support investment decisions.

The company brings more than 20 years of Canadian experience in subsurface engineering, reservoir management and injection engineering. Its expertise in mature and complex reservoirs is intended to support India’s efforts to strengthen domestic hydrocarbon production.

As part of its expansion plans, VZFOX intends to establish an office in Bengaluru and recruit five employees by the end of 2026. The company plans to expand its Indian team as business grows, combining Canadian technical expertise with local engineering capabilities.

Vick Saxon, Managing Partner and Director at VZFOX, said the company sees opportunities to help Indian operators improve the performance of existing energy assets. He added that India’s large base of producing oilfields, continued demand for domestic production and growing investment in carbon management make it a long-term market for the company.

Vinay Kumar, Executive Director and Senior Advisor at VZFOX, said the company would focus on building relationships with Indian oil and gas operators, engineering organisations, EPC companies and project developers. It plans to establish a core local team and expand its presence as demand for its technical services develops.
