Toyoda Gosei Co., Ltd. is establishing a new plant in the Maharashtra Bidkin Industrial Area to expand its business in India’s growing automobile market. The facility will manufacture large interior and exterior automotive products, including bumpers and instrument panels. Operations are scheduled to begin in the first half of 2029, with new buildings planned to support the increasing production capacity of Japanese automakers, which are among the company’s main customers.

The plant will adopt efficient manufacturing technologies, including the latest large moulding machines with automated mould and setup changes. It will also use production management systems based on IoT and digital transformation (DX).

Toyoda Gosei plans to implement smart automated processes that combine collaborative robots and karakuri technology to help minimise investment costs.

The new facility is being developed as a branch plant of Toyoda Gosei Group company Toyoda Gosei South India Pvt. Ltd. It will be Toyoda Gosei’s eighth location in India.

In addition to the compact cars that have driven demand to date, SUVs are becoming increasingly popular in India. Toyoda Gosei sees India as a key market, and will continue to establish its development and production network to contribute to safer and more comfortable mobility.
