Waaree Clean Energy Solutions (WCES), a wholly owned subsidiary of Waaree Energies, has entered India’s specialty gases business, with plans to become a one-stop supplier for semiconductor and solar cell manufacturers.

The company is developing a specialty gases plant at GIDC Saykha, Dahej, Gujarat, to support domestic supply of high-purity process gases used in semiconductor and electronics manufacturing. The initiative is aimed at addressing India’s dependence on imported high-purity gases and chemicals as domestic chip and electronics production expands.

WCES CEO Anuj Sharma said semiconductor and solar cell manufacturing requires a reliable supply chain for high-purity gases and chemicals. He added that the new business builds on the company’s deep-tech manufacturing and clean energy expertise and is intended to enable it to serve multiple manufacturing units.

The business will be developed in phases, beginning with specialty gases warehousing designed to meet semiconductor-grade safety standards.

The planned facilities include a unit for ultra-high purity (UHP) ammonia purification and a phosphine/hydrogen (PH₃/H₂) mixing plant for doping and deposition processes. The company also plans to supply UHP oxygen and UHP hydrogen, which is already commercially available.
