Hyderabad-based Spintronics AI Semiconductors has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CSIR–Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute (CSIR-CEERI) to collaborate on technology and design transfer in Gallium Nitride (GaN) semiconductors.

The partnership will assess technology, infrastructure and fabrication requirements for transferring GaN technology and design know-how from research and development laboratories into an industry-led domestic semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem.

CSIR-CEERI will contribute its expertise in GaN device research, process development and fabrication, while Spintronics AI will bring capabilities in semiconductor design, engineering and scalable product development.

The collaboration is aimed at supporting the development and commercialisation of GaN-based semiconductor technologies in India.

GaN is a next-generation semiconductor material with applications across defence, aerospace, satellite communications, radio-frequency communications, advanced telecommunications, power electronics and electric mobility.

The partnership is also expected to support the transfer of research-led semiconductor technologies into industrial applications and contribute to the development of domestic capabilities in advanced semiconductor manufacturing.
