NAN Enaex, a 50:50 joint venture between Indian critical minerals and advanced manufacturing platform NAN GreenMet and Chile-based blasting solutions provider Enaex, plans to invest ₹750 crore to establish an integrated explosives manufacturing facility in India. Commercial operations are expected to begin in 2027.
The investment comes amid rising demand for explosives driven by mining activities and infrastructure development in India. The country’s explosives market is projected to reach USD 1.7 billion by 2030 and USD 2.7 billion by 2035. The joint venture is also targeting a revenue opportunity of USD 300 million, supported by demand from the mining and infrastructure sectors.
NAN Enaex plans to offer emulsion explosives, electronic detonator systems, mine-to-mill optimisation services, and digital and artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled tools for mining, quarrying and civil infrastructure projects.
Beyond supplying explosives, the company aims to improve blasting precision, operational safety and productivity, while helping customers better manage the impact of blasting on surrounding areas.
Enaex has an international presence across key mining markets in North and South America, Europe, Africa and Oceania, with established operations in countries including Chile, Peru, Brazil and South Africa.
The planned facility is expected to strengthen India’s domestic explosives manufacturing capabilities and support the requirements of its expanding mining and infrastructure industries.
