Danobat Group at EMO 2025: Redefining Precision with CNC Robotics, Smart Grinding, and Ultra-Finish Turning

Staying true to its legacy of innovation, Danobat will unveil cutting-edge robotic solutions designed to optimise current processes and unlock new production capabilities. Among the highlights is the most precise, rigid, and stable CNC robot on the market, which will demonstrate real-time machining. These innovations will be showcased under the theme ‘Moments We Build Together’ at Hall 11, Stand F60, from September 22 to 26.

The Most Precise CNC Robot Series

Earlier this year, Danobat took a significant step forward in CNC precision robotics with the launch of dBOT, a revolutionary robot range engineered for applications requiring exceptional precision and dynamic performance. These state-of-the-art robots redefine industry benchmarks by merging the flexibility of robotics with the stiffness, stability, and accuracy typically associated with machine tools. No other robot on the market delivers this level of performance—with three times higher accuracy, ten times greater stiffness, and zero backlash—making it perfectly suited for complex machining and high-precision manufacturing tasks. At EMO, dBOT will demonstrate its full capabilities through live real-time machining.

The New IRD Series

Overbeck’s IRD series has long been the benchmark for high-precision internal and radius grinding, even on hard-to-machine materials like ceramics and carbide. As the manufacturing landscape moves toward more agile production, the IRD has been completely reengineered to meet these evolving needs.

Precise, versatile, and ready for automation, the new IRD is capable of internal, external, face, radius, and non-round grinding—all in a single setup. It remains unmatched in the market as the only machine to integrate both radius and non-round grinding within a single software platform. Tailored for high-precision industries such as aerospace, toolmaking, and mold and die, it excels in handling complex geometries while achieving exceptional surface finishes.

At EMO Hannover, Overbeck will present the new IRD-300 equipped with an integrated robot—offering a footprint that is 40% smaller than comparable machines.

CGX: Compact and Versatile Grinding Machine

The new CGX offers exceptional versatility within a compact 13 sqm footprint, capable of OD, ID, face, and non-round grinding—among other operations—on parts up to 1,800 mm in length, 540 mm in diameter, and 500 kg in weight. It stands out as the only grinder in its class able to accommodate such large parts while maintaining a compact design.

At EMO, the CGX will be demonstrated with an integrated MDM gauge for both in-process and post-process measurement, enabling real-time control of multiple diameters without interrupting the cycle. Originally developed for large components on Danobat’s HG grinding machines, the MDM system has proven highly effective in maintaining tight tolerances. The new MDM-100 brings this precision capability to smaller components (5–125 mm) and introduces key upgrades over previous models. It’s an ideal solution for manufacturers handling diverse part references or diameters—particularly when tight tolerances must be measured on small, continuous or interrupted surfaces.

Estarta: Expert Results in Centerless from the First Part

Traditionally, achieving optimal performance in centerless grinding depended heavily on operator expertise. Estarta redefines this standard by delivering expert-level results right from the very first part.

Engineered for rapid changeovers, ergonomic operation, and automatic loading in just 3.5 seconds, Estarta also supports OD and face grinding through its angular configuration—ensuring burn-free finishes even in high-throughput settings. Its fully electric, hydraulics-free design reduces energy consumption and simplifies maintenance, making it an ideal solution for high-volume production environments.

Same Mikroturn, More Capabilities

Hembrug’s Mikroturn ultra-precision hard turning lathe now comes equipped with integrated superfinishing, as well as tool and workpiece measuring systems within the machine. This enables surface finishes of Ra 0.05 µm and sub-micron profile accuracy, eliminating the need for external inspection or additional processing steps. Designed to handle complex threaded profiles—such as gothic, round, planetary, and Whitworth—the Mikroturn ensures micron-level precision right from the very first part.
