OPEN MIND Showcases Next-Gen CAM Solutions at EMO 2025

Awe-inspiring workpieces: OPEN MIND uses machining examples to give people at trade fairs a firsthand look at CAD/CAM technologies.

OPEN MIND will showcase the hyperMILL CAD/CAM suite along with the Hummingbird MES at EMO 2025, taking place from 22 to 26 September. These core solutions for connected production will be demonstrated through practical applications at Booth A41 in Hall 6 at the Hanover Exhibition Grounds. A live machining demonstration featuring combined turning and milling will be the highlight at the booth.

Four dedicated workstations will showcase the capabilities of hyperMILL and the Hummingbird Manufacturing Execution System. Exhibition attendees will gain insights into the four main components of the Hummingbird MES: synchronized planning and control, machine data acquisition, tool management, and CAM/CNC integration—an essential step towards digitalization.

Example of an aerospace application

This year at EMO, a Mazak Integrex i-100H S turn-mill center will be featured at the OPEN MIND booth. It will demonstrate the machining of an aerospace workpiece using 5-axis technologies and hyperMILL® TURNING Solutions. hyperMILL provides a comprehensive set of functions and strategies for mill-turning, turn-milling, and turning. EMO presents a great opportunity to see the latest developments in this area firsthand.

Connected manufacturing

OPEN MIND continues to position hyperMILL as a key element in the digitalization of process chains. At EMO, connected manufacturing will be a central theme under the slogan “Create the future of manufacturing together,” emphasizing the crucial role of the CAM system in an integrated manufacturing setup. This also includes the Hummingbird component for CAM/CNC integration.

Special education show

OPEN MIND will once again take part in the Nachwuchsstiftung Maschinenbau’s special education show as a cooperation partner, held in Hall 7 at EMO. The event is expected to welcome students, trainers, and teachers. It will give the next generation a chance to gain firsthand experience with the hyperMILL CAM system and understand its practical role within the process chain.
