Automation and Robotics Take Centre Stage at BIEMH 2026

Automation, robotics and digitalisation will feature prominently at the 33rd edition of BIEMH, which will be held from 2 to 6 March 2026 at Bilbao Exhibition Centre. The fair will reinforce the prominence of these strategic areas, which are true cutting-edge trailblazers in advanced manufacturing and key to moving towards more efficient, flexible and connected production models.

These sectors will display what they have to offer in Hall 6, which will occupy 20% of the total exhibition space. Internationally renowned companies such as ABB, Siemens, Yaskawa, Beckhoff, Motofil, ESSS, Farresa, KUKA, Inycom by Nunsys, Larraioz, Zimmer Group, Sisteplant, Hiwin, Odoo, Baumer and Semantic Systems have already confirmed their participation in this space, where they will exhibit state-of-the-art robots and equipment.

Hall 6 will also host the Innovation Workshops, events in which representatives from the exhibiting companies will present the technological developments on display at the stands. This integration of demonstration and technical exhibition will allow visitors to analyse in detail the functionalities, applications and advantages of each innovation, establishing a direct link between the more theoretical content and its practical implementation in industrial environments.

BIEMH 2026 is establishing itself as the major live technological showcase for advanced manufacturing, offering solutions designed to boost competitiveness and address the current challenges facing the industry. In addition to Hall 6, the fair will be distributed across five other halls, with a complete representation of key sectors: cutting and forming machinery, tools, accessories, welding, metrology, components, sheet metal and tube cutting, and surface treatment lines, with large machinery in operation allowing visitors to experience industrial processes in action. Thus far, more than 1,170 exhibiting companies from 26 countries have confirmed their participation, including leading Spanish and international brands, which will present cutting-edge solutions to meet the challenges facing the industry.

In its last edition, the fair attracted 37,000 professionals from 67 countries, a highly qualified audience with high decision-making power. Notable roles include managers, owners, directors and department heads from industrial companies in strategic sectors such as aeronautics and aerospace, automotive, capital goods, defence, electronics and electricity, energy, rail, naval, oil & gas, steel and industrial subcontracting.

BIEMH 2026 is organised by AFM, Machine Tool Manufacturers; AIMHE, Machine Tools Importers and Bilbao Exhibition Centre, with the Provincial Council of Bizkaia and SPRI – Basque Government as institutional partners.
