Sansera, Nichidai Form JV to Manufacture Precision Automotive Parts

Sansera Engineering Limited (Sansera), a leading manufacturer of precision-engineered components for the automotive and non-automotive sectors, has announced a strategic joint venture with Japan-based Nichidai Corporation (Nichidai). The joint venture will focus on the manufacture of precision forged and machined aluminium and steel components for applications such as differential assemblies, compressors, driveline systems, and other advanced automotive components that are not currently part of Sansera’s portfolio. These products will cater to both Indian and international markets.

As part of the partnership, the companies will establish a new private limited joint venture entity, to be incorporated in Bengaluru, India, which will undertake the manufacturing operations.

Strategic Rationale

The collaboration combines Nichidai Corporation’s five decades of expertise in die manufacturing, precision components, and filtration solutions developed through its operations in Japan and Thailand with Sansera’s strong footprint in India’s automotive sector. By leveraging their complementary capabilities, the partners aim to build a world-class manufacturing platform that can effectively serve both domestic and global markets.

Structure & Governance

The joint venture will be established as a private limited company, to be incorporated in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. Sansera will hold a 60% equity stake, while Nichidai will hold the remaining 40%. This ownership structure underscores the partners’ commitment to building a robust, India-based enterprise aligned with the Government of India’s “Make in India” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat” initiatives, while also enabling the transfer of advanced international technology and expertise.

Value Creation to Stakeholders

This Joint Venture will enable Sansera to:

  • Diversify the product portfolio of precision-engineered components and derisk against their
    existing IC engine components.
  • Access new customer segments and international markets
  • Create additional revenue streams and improve financial performance
  • Strengthening competitive positioning in the automotive value chain
  • Create skilled employment opportunities and contribute to the economic development of Karnataka

Commenting on this strategic JV, Mr. S Sekhar Vasan, Chairman & Managing Director of Sansera said, “We are extremely pleased to announce this landmark Joint Venture with Nichidai, Japan, which represents a pivotal moment in Sansera’s evolution and growth story. This strategic partnership is perfectly aligned with our vision to expand into high-value, technology agnostic automotive component segments and strengthen our position as a comprehensive solutions provider to the global automotive industry.

By partnering with Nichidai, we are gaining access to world-class Japanese precision engineering
technologies and manufacturing processes that will enable us to produce advanced components that
represents the next frontier of automotive manufacturing excellence.”

Mr. Naoki Ito, President, of Nichidai said, “On behalf of Nichidai Corporation, I am honoured to announce this strategic Joint Venture with Sansera, marking our entry into India’s vibrant and rapidly growing automotive components manufacturing sector. India represents one of the world’s most dynamic automotive markets, and we have been carefully evaluating opportunities to establish a meaningful presence in this important geography.

After extensive evaluation, we are convinced that partnering with Sansera will provide us with the ideal platform to bring Nichidai’s 50 years of precision engineering expertise and Japanese quality standards to the Indian and global markets.”
