What key trends, challenges, or growth opportunities do you see in the Indian Die and Mould Industry today, and how might they evolve by 2026?
The Indian Die & Mould industry is moving from price-led decisions to precision and capability-led growth. Demand from EV, packaging, and consumer sectors is pushing higher complexity, tighter tolerances, and faster delivery cycles. The biggest opportunity lies in India’s growing global positioning, but success will depend on technology adoption, skilled manpower, and strong process discipline. By 2026, I believe technology-driven, quality-focused companies with a strong manufacturing culture will define the industry’s leadership.

Which sectors (e.g., Automotive, EVs, Aerospace, Medical, Defence etc.) are driving demand for Dies and Moulds, and what opportunities do they present for the industry?
Automotive and EV are currently the strongest demand drivers, especially with the shift toward lightweight components, complex geometries, and high-precision parts. Packaging and consumer durables are also contributing significantly due to high-volume, multi-cavity mould requirements. Medical and defence sectors are emerging opportunities, where precision, reliability, and strict quality compliance create space for technologically strong toolmakers. For the industry, these sectors present opportunities in advanced engineering, high-performance tooling, faster development cycles, and long-term strategic partnerships rather than just transactional supply.

How is India’s manufacturing push (e.g., Make in India, China+1) impacting the Die and Mould sector overall?
India’s manufacturing push under initiatives like Make in India and the China+1 strategy is creating strong momentum for the Die & Mould sector. Global OEMs are increasingly looking at India not just as a low-cost base, but as a reliable manufacturing partner. This is driving higher expectations in terms of precision, timelines, documentation, and global quality standards. It is encouraging toolrooms to invest in advanced technology, automation, and process discipline. Overall, the impact is positive it is expanding opportunities, strengthening export potential, and pushing the industry toward greater professionalism and global competitiveness.

What innovations or technologies (e.g., additive manufacturing, automation, AI,  simulations) are shaping the competitiveness of the die and mould industry?
Advanced machining technologies like 5-axis CNC and high-speed machining are significantly enhancing precision and reducing lead times. Automation in electrode manufacturing, tool handling, and inspection is improving consistency and productivity. Simulation software for flow analysis and mould validation is helping minimise trial iterations and optimise designs before manufacturing. Additive manufacturing is supporting rapid prototyping and conformal cooling solutions. AI-driven monitoring and data analytics are gradually strengthening predictive maintenance and process control. Together, these technologies are shifting competitiveness from cost alone to speed, accuracy, and process reliability.

What role do initiatives like precision manufacturing and talent development play in expanding the Die and Mould industry into new markets?
Precision manufacturing is fundamental to entering new and regulated markets such as automotive, medical, and defence. Global customers evaluate not just pricing, but tolerance control, repeatability, documentation, and process stability. A strong precision-driven culture builds credibility and long-term trust. Talent development is equally critical. Advanced machines and software deliver results only when supported by skilled toolmakers, designers, and engineers. Continuous training ensures adaptability to new technologies and complex requirements. Together, precision and talent development strengthen global competitiveness and enable the industry to confidently expand into higher-value, export-oriented markets.

How has participating in past DMI exhibitions contributed to growth, networking, or collaborations within the tooling ecosystem?
Participation in past DMI exhibitions has helped us strengthen our presence within the tooling fraternity and connect directly with serious industry stakeholders. It has enabled focused interactions with OEMs, component manufacturers, and technology partners, leading to meaningful business inquiries and long-term relationships. More importantly, DMI has provided a platform for technical exchange, industry benchmarking, and understanding emerging market expectations. It has contributed positively to our visibility, credibility, and collaborative growth within the die and mould ecosystem.

DMI 2026 is a focused industry platform that brings together serious stakeholders from the die and mould ecosystem. It allows companies to present their technical capabilities, process strengths, and project experience directly to decision-makers. For the industry, it serves as a practical space to showcase advancements in precision, automation, and quality systems, while also understanding evolving customer expectations. It is less about promotion and more about visibility, benchmarking, and building meaningful industry connections both domestic and global.

What products, technologies, or launches are you planning to showcase at DMI 2026, and why are they significant for the industry? 
At DMI 2026, we plan to showcase our advanced multi-cavity precision injection moulds, high-performance hot runner mould systems, and complex tooling solutions developed for automotive, EV, and consumer applications. A key highlight will be our capability in handling high-accuracy moulds with optimised cooling, reduced cycle times, and enhanced durability. These solutions are significant because the industry today demands faster development cycles, consistent part quality, and cost-efficient production without compromising precision. We will also present our integrated approach from design validation and simulation to machining and quality control demonstrating how process discipline and technology adoption together improve tooling reliability and lifecycle performance.
