Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has approved a further equity investment of ₹65 crore in NTPC BHEL Power Projects Pvt Ltd (NBPPL), its 50:50 joint venture with NTPC Ltd.

The investment, to be made in one or more tranches, will be BHEL’s equity contribution to NBPPL. The investment will be made at face value by both promoter companies and on an arm’s-length basis, while the existing 50:50 shareholding structure will be maintained.

NBPPL was incorporated in April 2008 to execute engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts for power plants and other infrastructure projects, as well as manufacture and supply power plant equipment in India and overseas.

BHEL’s board approved the investment at its meeting on September 14, 2026.

NBPPL reported a provisional turnover of ₹1.04 crore in 2025-26, compared with ₹3.48 crore in 2024-25 and ₹18.19 crore in 2023-24.
