Auto component manufacturer Uno Minda plans to invest ₹1,415 crore to expand its manufacturing footprint and increase capacity across key business segments.

The investment will include a new aluminium casting facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, expansion of two-wheeler alloy wheel manufacturing in Kharkhoda, Haryana, and expansion of a moulding facility in Bengaluru.

Uno Minda plans to invest around ₹510 crore in a new greenfield aluminium casting facility at Thally Road, Hosur. The existing Hosur operations will be consolidated and relocated to the new facility, with aluminium casting capacity expected to increase to 34,000 tonnes at peak from around 13,000 tonnes.

The company has also received board approval for a 3.3 million-unit two-wheeler alloy wheel plant at Kharkhoda with an additional investment of ₹155 crore. The project will include the relocation of 2 million units of existing capacity from Supa, Maharashtra, and will be implemented in phases over the next two years. The first phase is expected to begin production by Q4 FY28.

Under its subsidiary Uno Minda Kyoraku Ltd, the company has allocated another ₹80 crore to expand its moulding facility in Bengaluru to meet increasing demand. Operations at the expanded facility are expected to begin by Q1 FY28.

In addition, Uno Minda’s joint venture with Japan-based Toyoda Gosei will establish a new plant at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in Maharashtra. The facility, under Toyoda South India Pvt Ltd, will manufacture interior and exterior automotive parts, airbags, hoses and body sealing components. The plant involves an estimated investment of around ₹670 crore and is expected to commence operations by Q4 FY29.

“With a combined capital expenditure of Rs 1,415 crore, these expansions represent a disciplined approach to capturing high-growth opportunities while strategically diversifying across product verticals and geographies,” said Sunil Bohra, Group CFO at Uno Minda Ltd.

The announcements include the expansion projects in two-wheeler alloy wheels, aluminium casting, moulding, and interior, exterior parts and sealing systems, Uno Minda said.

“These projects mark another significant step forward in Uno Minda’s long-term growth journey. Each of them is anchored in a clear and consistent principle, investing backed by orders or firm demand visibility, staying close to our customers, and building state-of-the-art manufacturing capabilities that are scalable, efficient and future-ready,” said Ravi Mehra, Managing Director at Uno Minda Ltd.
