Siemens partner Sapience Techsystems teams up with DMG MORI and Wipro for CAD/CAM training

CAD/CAM, or computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing, is an essential skill for modern engineers, designers, and manufacturers. Mastering the skills in CAD/CAM can significantly impact productivity, saving valuable designing or programming time and achieving high-performance production. CAD/CAM is a dynamic field, and it evolves constantly with new software, hardware enhancements, standards, and techniques.

Sapience Techsystems, Siemens’ leading partner and provider of engineering solutions and services such as CAD/CAM/CAE, PLM, and KBE, collaborated with a leading machine tool builder, DMG MORI, and Wipro Enterprises to host a CAD/CAM training workshop at the DMG MORI India premises in Bengaluru.

The training spanned a complete three-week period, with skilled engineers from Wipro taking part from 17th July to 4th August 2023.

About the Siemens NX CAD/CAM masterclass
The NX CAD/CAM training was packed with a range of 15 NX CAD and NX CAM sessions that covered all the bases, conducted by 2 instructors from Sapience Techsystems.

During the NX CAD sessions, participants delved into a range of topics from mastering sketching techniques to solid and surface modelling, as well as assembly techniques including the bottom-up approach. Additionally, attendees got hands-on with drafting essentials and generating accurate dimensions.

With 11 dedicated NX CAM sessions, participants delved into fundamental manufacturing concepts, such as planar milling, contour strategies, drilling, and turning. The program also covered advanced multi-axis topics like positioning, multi-blade machining, and rotary operations. These sessions were interactive, with Q&A segments enabling participant engagement. The training reached its conclusion with an evaluation exam, enabling participants to apply their learning to NC program a 3D part model and earn certificates upon successful completion.

“This was a great opportunity to enable our customer to effectively use the powerful capabilities of NX CAD/CAM software. By sharing our teams’ expertise, we helped Wipro to further automate their production process for making better parts efficiently.” says Nishant Bhonge, Director, Sapience Techsystems

Upon the completion of the training, Wipro Enterprises’ CAD/CAM engineering team has benefited significantly, as they are now proficient in the latest CAD/CAM tools and techniques, resulting in a substantial improvement in productivity for part design and manufacturing.
