Piyush Goyal Holds Talks with German Companies on Investment in India

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal has held discussions with senior executives of three German companies, Fresenius Group, Bayer and Knauf Group, in Berlin to explore opportunities for investment, manufacturing expansion and bilateral cooperation.

During his meeting with Michael Sen, CEO of Fresenius Group, Goyal discussed opportunities to strengthen healthcare cooperation, with a focus on affordable medical solutions and India’s growing manufacturing capabilities. He also highlighted the potential for the company to use India’s skilled workforce and production capabilities to serve domestic and international markets.

In a separate meeting with Stefan Oelrich, President of Bayer’s Pharmaceuticals Division, the Minister discussed the company’s expansion plans in India and opportunities to increase investment, innovation and collaboration in the healthcare sector.

Goyal also met Murat Akyildiz, Global General Partner at Knauf Group, to discuss the company’s manufacturing operations in India and explore further cooperation in sustainable construction materials and infrastructure development.

The discussions focused on areas where German companies could expand their engagement with India, including healthcare, pharmaceuticals, construction materials and infrastructure. India’s urbanisation, industrial growth and expanding healthcare needs offer opportunities for greater bilateral investment and manufacturing collaboration.
