Tata Boeing Aerospace Limited (TBAL), a joint venture between Boeing and Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL), has rolled out its 400th fuselage for the AH-64E Apache helicopter from its 52,000-square-metre facility in Hyderabad.
The fuselages are manufactured in India and subsequently integrated into complete Apache helicopters supplied to customers worldwide, including the US Army. Six Apache helicopters manufactured with the support of India’s aerospace supply chain were delivered to the Indian Army in 2025. The Indian Air Force operates a fleet of 22 AH-64E Apache helicopters.
Established in 2016, TBAL employs more than 750 engineers and technicians at its Hyderabad facility. The company uses robotics, automation and aerospace manufacturing technologies to produce fuselage aerostructures for the Apache helicopter.
The production programme reflects the growing role of India’s aerospace manufacturing sector in global defence supply chains, with locally manufactured aerostructures being integrated into aircraft supplied to international customers.
With approximately 1,300 Apache aircraft currently in operation with 19 countries and counting, TBAL’s milestone highlights India’s growing role in supporting one of the world’s most iconic rotorcraft platforms.
